Under the baton of maestro Grigory Krasko, Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra will open 12th Niksic Guitar Festival in Niksic Theater, on Monday, September 25, at 8 p.m.


The orchestra will interpret  Aranhuez Concert for Guitar and Orchestra by Joaquin Rodrigo and Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky. The solo part in Aranhuez concert will be interpreted by the winner of this year International Guitar Competition in Tivat, French guitarist Antoine Moriniere.

One of the most important cultural events in this year, the concert of the renowned Beijing Symphony Orchestra, will be held on Thursday, September 14 at the Montenegrin National Theater, starting at 7 p.m. The concert is a part of the cultural program of the Forum of Capital city Mayors of Central and Eastern Europe and China 16 + 1, hosted by the Capital City of Podgorica.

A day later, on September 15, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, by which will be opened a new and significant chapter in the promotion of international cultural cooperation in the field of music art.

One of the best ensembles of today (founded in 1977) is led by prominent Chinese artist Tan Lihua who is an Art Director and Chief Conductor. For the past two decades, the orchestra has given around thousand concerts and reached a large audience of different professions and age groups. They had tours in all parts of China, seven tours across Europe and a tour in America. The Beijing Symphony Orchestra participated in the Chinese Culture Week at the 2012 London Olympics.

Under the baton of Tan Lihua, the orchestra will perform pieces written by Chinese composers Fang Kejie – Re Ba dance, and Julian Yu - Concert on Chinese themes for dizi and orchestra, as well as Montenegrin Songs (arrangement by Žarko Mirković) and Symphony No. 8 in G Major by Antonin Dvorak. The concert will feature one of the most prominent Chinese flautists Chen Yue who will play on dizi (bamboo flute).
